Dannice collects the frequently asked questions about the chillers for our friends, hoping that they can be used in the industrial production.

Water leakage of the chiller

1.Water pump

Reason: Poor connection of the shaft seal at the pump or damage to the shaft seal

Measures: For slight water leakage, the shaft seal can be replaced, and if the casing is damaged, the pump needs to be replaced.

2.Water tank

Reason: There are trachoma in the welding position of the water tank or long-term use

Measures: Pull back to the manufacturer to re-weld the leaking location, or negotiate with the manufacturer on related handling matters.

3. Ball valve

Reason: Leakage of ball valve

Measures: Replace the ball valve.

4. The position of the floating ball is leaking

Cause: Float dropped or floating bal position is incorrect

Measure: reinstall the floating ball and adjust the position of the ball.


High pressure alarm of the refrigeration unit

We can turn on the machine and look at the high pressure meter. If it keeps rising, a high pressure alarm will appear. Generally, if it is not an equipment quality problem, it can be solved from the following aspects.

1. Is the water tower boiling? Is the cooling water channel unobstructed? The solution is to check whether the pipe valves of the cooling tower and the chiller are in the open state.

2.Is the water quality of the water tower good? If you haven't checked the blisters after more than half a year, you need to clean the water cannon.

3. If it is an air-cooled chiller, it is necessary to clean the condenser.

4. If the above problems cannot be solved, it may be the problem of the pressure controller and the computer board, and the pressure controller or computer needs to be replaced plate.


A low pressure fault

1. It may mean that the system leaks refrigerant, we should check it at first by looking at the low pressure gauge to see if pressure is right or not. If there is no pressure or the pressure is low the refrigerant is leaking.

Measures: check for leaks and repair leaks, check each copper pipe joint to see where the refrigerant is leaking.

2. The pressure controller is broken.

Measure: Check whether the pressure controller can be reset, if not, replace the pressure controller.

3. The computer board is broken. If there are no other problems, it may be a computer program error that causes a low-voltage fault to be reported.

Measure: Replace the computer board and readjust the parameters.

4. The filter is clogged. When one side of the filter is lower than the capillary and the temperature on the other side is constant, it means the filter is clogged.

Measure: replace the filter.


The chiller does not cool

1. Leakage of refrigerant in the system. The inspection method is to first look at the low pressure gauge to see if there is any pressure. If there is no pressure, it means that the refrigerant is leaking.

Measures: check for leaks and repair leaks, check the joints without copper pipes, and see where the refrigerant is leaking.

2. The compressor is damaged (compressor failure will also be displayed). The inspection method is to clamp the three wires of the compressor with pliers to obtain the working current. If the three are different, it is judged that the compressor is damaged; the current of the 5HP compressor is about 9A-10A, otherwise it is abnormal.

Measures: Replace the compressor or find a compressor manufacturer for repair.

3. The touch screen board is damaged. The temperature displayed on the computer board is abnormal or inconsistent with the actual temperature.

Measure: Repair or replace the touch screen board.

4. Overload. When we use chillers, the temperature does not reach the predetermined effect, or the temperature does not drop, but rises instead.

Measure: It means that the power of the selected chiller is not large enough, and it may be necessary to replace a larger chiller to achieve the required temperature. Water leakage of the chiller, high and low pressure failure of the chiller, and no cooling of the chiller are common failure phenomena in the operation of industrial chillers.
